Behind the Scene
Moonlit shows the brave imaginings of a little lighthouse model, made of wood and painted white, that sits on one of the Queen Anne chests-of-drawers in the studio. Of all the models there, this little fellow has the most imagination and tells the boldest tales.
The moonlight is real, though, for late at night, and sometimes early, the clouds break up just as the little lighthouse has seen them do through the tall arched windows in the east wall of the studio. And there, among the shadows in the stillness of the night, the moonlight rises like a tide through the panes in the narrow windows and splashes up upon the sometime cliff where the little model stands.
It is then, in the whisper echo of the kitchen wall-clock chimes that the moondust tells its tales of starless seas and gathering storm.
