Women of the Bible

The Women of the Bible project at Al Young Studios began in 2003 as a series of illustrations for a two-volume set of books by Camille Fronk Olson, professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University. In the fall of 2009, Deseret Book Company published the first volume in the set, The Women of The Old Testament, featuring 17 oil paintings by Elspeth Young, two paintings by Al R. Young, and 38 pen and ink drawings by Ashton R. Young. The second volume in the series, featuring women of the New Testament, is tentatively scheduled for publication in 2011. Images from this ongoing series have been featured in museum exhibits, book covers, magazines, calendars, and other media, and are available directly from Al Young Studios in a wide range of open-edition prints.
