Ashton R. Young

Ashton has been a professional artist and craftsman for over twenty years.  As both a studio and consulting artist, he is experienced in stained glass design, fabrication, and restoration.  He also has extensive experience in the design and creation of museum-quality frames for original artworks, and formulated the Studios'process for carving, casting, and reproduction of custom ornamentation.  This draws deeply on his long experience with ceramics, which includes not only pottery, but the carving, casting, and production of decorative ornament.  He is also trained and experienced in lithography and printing; oil painting; woodworking and carving; construction projects from faux beams and garden structures to furniture and home remodeling.  He has worked as an illustrator, calligrapher, museum consultant for installation art, production of wall texts and decorative panels, and as a research assistant for large-scale historical publishing projects.

Young, and numerous issues of The Storybook Home Journal  His monumental work in transcribing original historical documents figured prominently in the publication of My Father’s Captivity (2009), as well as the online archive of original historical sources associated with the book.

Ashton holds a BA in history from Brigham Young University.
